Personal:

I am a former runner who took the sport back up about 3 1/2 years ago. In the preceeding 20+ years I was a 2 pack a day smoker and the only excercise I recieved was summer softball. Needless to say; it was time for a change.

Last day of FL vacation. I can't believe how horrible I'm feeling.  All this walking around has my back and hip in a tizzy.  Lookijng forwards to heading home and getting back into a running routine even though I'll miss the warm weather.

Oh what a difference a day can make.  I went from running in 70 degree weather to 28 this morning.  Felt a little better than the last run but my lower back is definitely feeling off. It's very tight and soar.

Long run with Dave and Larry.  temps were in the 40's and it felt good.  7 with the boys and then a solo 4 by myself. I went to stretch out the left hip at 9 miles and almost fell to the ground.  Very stiff and painful.  Not sure what's going on with it but am getting concerned.  I may have to call Mellisa and see if she can fit me in for an emergency deep tissue massage.    It's getting to close to Boston for this stuff to be happening.  Back to work tommorrow.

Typically my off day but I felt great after the weekend and couldn't wait to get out there.  Wouyld have liked to go longer but settled for 6 at 8 flat so I don't ruin the rest of the week.

The legs were a bit sluggish today but I ran through it and pushed the pace a little just to remember how it feels to run tired.  This is lining up as a good mileage week which will be a nice change of pace.

5.1 miles at 7:57 pace.

I felt pretty good today, even with the increased milage.  Legs were a little slugish but about what I was expecting.  Still managed to keep the pace under 8 without too much effort.  My hip seems to feel better the more I run.  Not sure what that means?

6 miles in the A.M. before work today.  My legs felt great except for the fact the wouldn't turn over.  8:15's for the run  followed by 4x100 striders.

Easy 5 this morning with my long run tommorrow. Weather was very windy but temps are starting to rise. It makes motivation a lot easier.

10 miles with Dave this morning followed up with a 5k tempo run in 20:00 flat. 1 mile warm down.  The 5k was a struggle but exactly what I was hoping for.  The New Bedford 1/2 is 1 week away.

Easy recovery run in the snow today after work.  I thought this winter weather was behind us.  Well; at least I had hoped so.

Talk about tired.  From the time I woke up till I fell asleep on the couch I never felt fully there yesterday. I'm guessing it's a combination of Day-light Saving time and increased milage starting to catch up with me.  No matter.  Still managed to get out there and do my run.  5 miles followed by 5 x .2 mile hill repeats with a mile cool down.

3.6 miles at 7:51  followed by .25 miles in 65 seconds.  5.6 miles at 7:50

I just went out to do 9 miles but as I neared the track decided to run a quarter mile at max just to see what I could do.  Afterwards it took about a mile to feel better.  Now my left foot is killing me.  Possible bone bruise?
