Personal:
I am a former runner who took the sport back up about 3 1/2 years ago. In the preceeding 20+ years I was a 2 pack a day smoker and the only excercise I recieved was summer softball. Needless to say; it was time for a change.
Not really fast miles but quicker than usual. The weekly 5 mile race here on the island was good motivation to do a back to back run. The first in a few weeks. I ended up running about 7 minute miles on average and it felt good.
Let's call this my long run for the week. I felt good for the first 2 miles but then my legs started to get heavy. I picked it up between miles 3.5 and 6 before easing up and cooling down for the final mile. I averaged 8:15's and felt o.k. with that. I'm trying not to get to far ahead of myself or look over my shoulder at where I was. I'm just trying to run in the moment and worry about the here and now.
I went out for an easy 4-5 miler and managed to tweek, hopefully, my right calf. It's always something. Tried to run a bit aftewr hurting it but it didn't get any better. Ice when I got homee and hope for the best tommorrow.
